The Downtown Dispatch

Welcome to the Downtown FabWorks newsletter.

Good People. Good Work. Excellent Experiences.

Thank you for your interest in Downtown FabWorks!

Over the past four years we have built a talented team that has fabricated an incredible portfolio of projects. We recently organized into two formal divisions - Architectural and Scenic - to seamlessly deliver both permanent and ethereal projects.

Make your custom fabrication projects the best they can be!

Bucktown Bird’s Nest Open for Viewing

View of the Bucktown Bird’s Nest Learning Pavilion from Bucktown Marsh Boardwalk

Our latest thematic architectural fabrication, the Bucktown Bird’s Nest Learning Pavilion, officially opened to the public on April 3. The 40-foot-tall ADA-accessible structure provides panoramic views of Bucktown Harbor in Jefferson Parish and is the most recent example of what has become a FabWorks specialty - immersive educational exhibits.

Our project is a cornerstone of the parish’s Bucktown Harbor Park and Marina redevelopment project that is partially funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The larger project aims to reconnect people to the coast along a one-mile stretch of Lake Pontchartrain by creating the first living shoreline to protect a federal levee system.

“Bang for the buck, the impact [of the living shoreline] is extraordinary.”

- Richard Spinrad, Head of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Take your architectural projects to new heights!

Scenic Division Scores at Super Bowl

We recently partnered with frequent collaborator FlyteVu to convert Dawg House Saloon Las Vegas into a five-day Ashley House activation, up to and including Game Day in the Super Bowl LVIII host city.

Our work involved the fabrication and installation of custom brand touch points, including an arched entrance, football display wall, and hanging signage and scenery for a main stage and sports lounge.

Let’s activate your brand for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans!

Meet the Team!

Jeanne Tompkins, Manager of Customer Experience for our new Scenic Division

Jeanne Tompkins joined us last year as Account Manager and has naturally evolved into Manager of Customer Experience for our new Scenic division. She has 15+ years of live event production experience across the U.S., primarily with boutique consultancies and destination management companies.

Jeanne also has a B.A. in Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design. She taps into her creative background to bring brands to life and took the lead on our activations for Ashley House (see above), the Amazon Prime Kelce premiere, and Essence Festival 2023.

Jeanne is the leader of her own pack. She is especially fond of hiking through the forest with her dogs in her home state of Louisiana.
