Behind the Build: It Takes a Village

I’ve always believed that the best work comes from strong relationships—people you can count on, who bring their best work to the table every time. Over the past few years, the Downtown FabWorks team has been lucky to collaborate with some incredible local partners right here in New Orleans. Today I wanted to take a second to celebrate some of the folks who help us bring our clients’ ideas to life. These are companies that regularly go above and beyond to create quality work while providing impeccable service.

This month on our social media channels and here on the blog, we’re going to be talking about the fine details that make a project go from “OK” to “OMG!” Every single company you see below has had a hand in helping us create those standout, one-of-a-kind experiential builds. We are so grateful to have partners like this—folks who not only understand quality but are driven to foster it in every element they create—in our corner.

CCI Productions

If you’ve ever seen a Downtown FabWorks project wrapped in bold, beautiful graphics, there’s a good chance that CCI Productions had a hand in it. They’re the go-to for large-scale printing in New Orleans, with the widest format capabilities around. Their team is quick, dependable, and always up for a challenge—traits we value deeply.

The nature of our business means that while we might not always partner on paper, we still end up tag teaming various elements of the same project. For the recent Ivalua NOW Conference at Caesar’s Superdome, CCI set the tone of the event with slick branded graphics, and Downtown FabWorks fabricated the main conference stage.

DNE Creative Technology

DNE brings a rare blend of technical skill and artistry to everything they touch. Specializing in theatrical controls and architectural A/V, they’ve helped us dream bigger on multiple installations. Their precision and problem-solving mindset make them a quiet powerhouse in the local scene, and their work with us at Loft18 Mandeville was no exception. Their lighting integration for the popular sports pub’s industrial chic bar rig allows restaurant staff to adjust lighting schemes and change the space to match the mood, whether it’s game day or a private event.

Corporate Lighting & Audio

CLAV has been a trusted name in production for decades—and for good reason. Whether it’s lighting design for a pop-up or full-scale audio for an event, their team brings deep experience and steady hands. We’ve leaned on them more than once and they never disappoint. One of our favorite recent projects was the set for the 2024 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie (Pastry World Cup), held here in New Orleans.

Westside Powder Coating

We’ve worked with plenty of powder coaters, and Westside Powder Coating stands out in all the right ways. Their finishes are consistently clean, durable, and beautifully executed, but it doesn’t stop there. Aside from being amazing at their craft, their team is also friendly, responsive, and always on time—even when timelines are tight. You seriously couldn’t ask for a better experience.

For the Coca-Cola Corner Kick-It Cart, we teamed up with both Westside Powder Coating and CCI Productions, for a winning final product that boasts a flawless finish and bold, eye-catching graphics that are sure to draw in a crowd!

AZZ Galvanizing

AZZ might be one of the biggest national players in the hot-dip galvanizing game, but their local team in Baton Rouge still manages to feel like family. They have been a steady partner on some of our biggest, weather-resistant builds. Their work is high quality and their professionalism has been highly appreciated. In fact, thanks to AZZ, our joint project at Bucktown Bird’s Nest Learning Pavilion just received the 2025 Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing Award!
